Metrochrome

Terms

Effective
01

Agreement

These terms apply to the Metrochrome app and to this website. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Metrochrome.

02

Licence

Metrochrome is licensed, not sold. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement applies, together with these terms. Where the two disagree, these terms govern, except where Apple's agreement may not be varied.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile or redistribute the app, except to the extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction.

03

The Metrochrome Pass

Every emulsion in Metrochrome is free, on every process. The Metrochrome Pass is a one-time purchase that adds the print instruments — the enlarger head and its timer, dodging and burning, the test strip, the ring-around, the paper and its grade, the lens filter, film size, development, bleach bypass and the clip test, and saved recipes and notes.

It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew and nothing is charged again.

  • To restore it on another device, open Settings → Metrochrome Pass and press the box marked Locked; the Pass page that opens has Restore purchase in the menu behind the bar's handle. A restore that finds no purchase grants nothing.
  • Payment, refunds and cancellations are handled by Apple under its own policy. We cannot issue a refund ourselves.
04

Your photographs

Your photographs, and the prints you make from them, are yours. We claim no rights in them, we never receive them, and nothing in these terms gives us a licence to them.

You are responsible for having the right to use the photographs you bring into the app.

05

Film names and emulations

Film, paper and developer names shown in the app are the trademarks of their respective owners. Metrochrome is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any film or paper manufacturer.

Each emulsion is an emulation built from published technical data — characteristic curves, spectral sensitivities and granularity figures, read from the manufacturers' own published datasheets and from an openly licensed digitisation of them that the app credits — and not a reproduction of the original product. Names are used to say which published data an emulation was built from. Results will not match real film exactly, and nothing in the app is a promise that they will.

06

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Metrochrome, including individual emulsions, where a manufacturer's data is withdrawn or corrected. A Pass already bought keeps access to the instruments it unlocked.

If these terms change, the new version will be published here with a new effective date. Continuing to use Metrochrome after that date means accepting the change.

07

Disclaimer and liability

Metrochrome is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of Metrochrome is limited to the amount you paid for the app and the Pass. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost photographs — keep your originals in your photo library, which the app never alters.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects consumer rights you have that cannot be varied by contract.

08

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict of law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence continue to apply.
